From slime to sublime

This illustration was done for a contest organised by the luxembourgish postal service and Design Friends. The aim was to have 4 new designs for the “L” class stamps, sold as sticker stamps. The guidelines were pretty simple, anything goes, as long as it’s recognisable as the letter L. I went for a more calligraphic L, in the form of a tentacle (or vice versa?) and a cyclops monster in the back. You know, perfectly in line with what you’d expect from a post office. Despite that I was fortunate enough to have my design win one of the spots.

Plus it’s always nice getting post with your work on it…
