LA PETITE MORT

The third collab with Jeff Poitiers strayed away from movie posters and went for a full on orgasm portrait. The piece was done for a group exhibition of the Open End collective, and had as a theme/name “Happy endings”. We went for a portrait of a woman with an overlaid skeleton to play around with the idea of happy ends as an orgasm, but also as death being a kind of (happy) end. The fact that female orgasms are colloquially called “la petite mort” also helped.

As usual we split the illustration in two, Jeff taking over one part (the woman) and me the other (the skeleton). The illustration is in itself quite simple, but works quite nicely in terms of what it represents.
