Hal Flavin

While I've worked with quite a few heavy metal bands in the past, it's always a nice, welcome challenge to work with bands from a completely different genre, which was the case with Hal Flavin. A well-established Luxembourgish electro-rock band, Hal Flavin asked me to redesign their logo and design a sleeve for their self-titled 2008 EP. For this I took my inspiration from one of their tracks called "Lights". I thought it would be fun to create a cityscape completely made up of little lights, with no immediately recognisable structures between them. Really just lights and black. I deliberately kept the cover very simple, putting only a cube made up of rows of multicolored lights, so that the inside would inspire this very bright feeling you get when you're in a large metropolis at night.
